AGRICULTURE
Dartmouth Junior Grange Farm
Local food and agriculture is important to The Dartmouth Junior Grange, #104!

THANK YOU TO ALDERBROOK FARM!  We are lucky to have great neighbors in Alderbrook Farm and its owners, Nancy and Allen Manley. The Manleys have allowed the Junior Grange to use a small plot of land on their property to grow vegetables, flowers and fruit - thus THE JUNIOR GRANGE, #104 FARM!
THE DARTMOUTH JUNIOR GRANGE, #104 FARM
Meets most Mondays* and Thursdays* (June-October 2016),
5:30pm-7:00pm (across the street from the Grange Hall)
ALL ARE WELCOME!
Dartmouth Junior Grangers plant, maintain and harvest produce from May-November. What is not shared with the Junior Grange families is sold to Alderbrook Farm. Through activities at the Dartmouth Junior Grange Farm, members learn:
  • The importance of local, sustainably grown food;
  • How to plan, prepare and maintain a garden space;
  • Different varieties of regionally adapted fruits/veg and how to transplant and/or direct seed them;
  • Harvest and post harvest handling of product;
  • Marketing and sale of local food
*Due to weather or schedule conflicts some Mondays are cancelled; please join our email list to stay in the loop!

FUTURE EVENTS
As the Junior Grange Farm continues to grow and diversify its products, we hope to start community service projects with our excess product! If you'd like to help, please let us know!
